In the industry, this is what they call a 10-year rain event.
The kind of rain storm that only happens once every 10 years. These are the weather events that ruin people's basements, break tree limbs...and shred a farmer's crop.
This year it was my crop.
My hard work.
I got tears in my eyes just looking at my tomato plants without any tops, sunflowers without any leaves, zucchini that was completely wiped out...nothing even left.
Pea-sized hail for 10 minutes will do that...
sigh.

Yikes! Sorry about your garden. Between you and Becca ya'll have pretty bad luck in the H2O department.
that made me want to cry. that sucks!
we have had crazy weather here too and i'm pretty sure my one tomato plant (that is now bent over sideways) and my few herbs are dead too. i'm crossing my fingers though.
We had a similar hailstorm here in STL last week, Tuesday. Hopefully, you can get some sunshiney days and most of it will come back, with just crop delays. Be hopeful! ...and keep the critters away from tender shoots!
Aaaahhhh, so sad!
I'm sorry, Rosa. Any chance it (the garden) will bounce back in a little sunshine?
Bummer.
